Quotes

The type face could be used for quotes. These quotes could be framed or used for cards.

"Have a great Birthday"

The type face can then be used to create different messages and designs depending on the
occasion. Ranges of colours can be also used.

'Colourful Dots' Typeface

I decided to start patiently create a type face using a selection of coloured dots. The dots had to be firstly carefully positioned...

And then the colours applied with finally aa overlaid template to define the edges.

Colourful / Playful designs

These simple playful cards are vibrant and fun and can be customized with different colours & messages depending on the occasion. They print well on thick textured card.

Greeting Cards with spiral patterns

To make the most out of these designs, I set the background to black and pattern to white. For the cards I simply cut out a black square and stuck it to a background card so that it appears raised from the surface. The result is a simple but elegant design. {the black border around each card is the background paper used to photograph the cards, not part of the finished product}

Friday 2 March 2012

I've created a whole range of these spiral designs.

Spiral Design

I started to experiment by repeating a pattern by 45° to create a full 360° Spiral as seen in the picture.

Choices 4 U

My name is Lewis; I’m 25 and have a genetic disorder known as Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy.

I had the opportunity to apply for a small grants scheme called 'Choices 4 U'. This scheme was set up for young disabled persons to make life enhancing choices and to inspire others in a similar position.

I decided I would use this Grant to enable me to further peruse my interest in art. I’d previously been designing cards and thought I could use this grant to take this further.

I wanted to also do photography which I could use in my card designs. So I applied for a macro lens for a pre-existing camera to allow me to capture close up details of objects. As well as the camera equipment I also applied for a card scoring machine which will be an invaluable piece of equipment.

This blog will show the work I'll create using the equipment purchased with the grant I was rewarded
